Take the easy option?

For over 10 years we’ve had at least one child at home. We became experts at juggling work, family, holidays and hobbies until all of sudden it crept up on us … all three girls in school, in the same place at the same time. Ahhhh, we could have breathed a big sigh of relief and enjoyed this new comparatively easy life OR we could just take them out of school and go on a family adventure. Hmmm, I often think we’re crazy, especially after being immersed for hours in packing up the house only to re-enter an already emptied room and find it full of drawings, cut up paper and all sorts of things that I was sure I had already packed away. Two steps forward, one step back. I often think that the easy option would have been, well, easier! But as long as we’re always moving that one step forward then we’re getting closer to being ready for our little Pacific sailing adventure. Three more days of school and work until we travel to our yacht ‘Tangaroa’, to our home, our school, our vehicle. Last few days where we do our own thing for a while. Last few days living the lifestyle that is familiar. I know there’ll be things we miss and things we don’t like but if an adventure wasn’t on our horizon then maybe that ‘easy’ life wouldn’t feel that golden right now. – Luisa Schellens

I’m packed. Can we leave now?

I am imagining it wouldn’t be easier sitting at home regretting that you had just gone on that adventure…..none of the good stories come out of “easy”.
