Today Anthony estimated that their arrival in Tonga will be around lunchtime on Saturday, we fly in on Friday. We’ve had a great week in Wellington, visiting the museum, botanical gardens, the university, seeing native wildlife and all sorts of other things, and it’s quite a strange thought that this entire time Anthony and crew have been on a moving boat, creeping slowly forward on the map. Tomorrow we’ll whiz over their path in less that 3 hours. Often slowing down equates to enhanced enjoyment of a journey, but I await the stories, and maybe find out for myself one day, whether long passages such as these are actually an enjoyable experience or more one of endurance. Either way I’m sure there will be plenty of stories to hear on Saturday evening, or probably Sunday when a bit of the salty lethargy has passed. Then, I think, it’ll be time to relax and enjoy the next stage of our adventure exploring some islands of the Pacific.
